Life

So much about babies and pregnancy seems to be swirling around lately...maybe because we're in the throes of presidential election campaigning, maybe because I'm just in the child-bearing age bracket, I don't know. We watched a documentary recently that featured a brave family whose baby was diagnosed in utero as having three sets of her eighteenth chromosome, which meant that she may only live mintues, hours, or days even if she survived birth at all. The family did not terminate the pregnancy, insisting that it is God's right, not theirs, to choose when this little life would be taken. How touching, how right, how sacrificial, how hard...
