Spring is in full swing, although with our record-breaking temperatures, it's felt a bit like we've skipped right into early summer. I can't wait for the farmstands to get in all the fabulous produce. I have an itch this year to plant more edibles. I always have an herb pot, and last year I did tomatoes, but now I want more. Even if we can't get a raised bed this year for veggies, I'm hoping to at least get a strawberry jar planted. It's a curse, really, this desire...when I was young we had vegetable gardens complete with carrots, corn, snow peas, peppers, the works, but now that I'm away from home, the droughts and my black thumb tend to kill everything I touch.
