Things you notice while driving home

The Bug and I were making our way home this afternoon when elementary school was getting out. These are just a sampling of the things that caught my attention:

  • People in our neighborhood laugh at the school zone speed limit...especially parents whom have just picked up their kids. Johnny and Jane climb in the backseat and then mom or dad is off, like they're competing in some soft of Olympic sport to edge out the car behind them from leaving the parking lot first.

  • A boggling number of elementary kids have cell phones. Driving through our development, we encountered a small mob of kids walking together, each on his or her cell phone. They're walking home...together...who on earth would they be calling? Nevermind, knowing some kids that age, they were probably calling each other.

  • It must be very cool to have a backpack on wheels.
