On being grown up
|
My birthday was Saturday and normally I don't feel any different on my birthday. Yeah, the number goes up, but I don't ever feel different. Not the case this year. I mean, yes, I'm a mom, a wife, I have a house, I do all the things adults are supposed to do, but until now I've never really felt quite like a grown up...like someone left me alone on extended vacation and my parents are going to show up at any moment, like this life is surreal. But for some reason that I can't quite explain or even pinpoint, this year I feel...changed. Like yes, I am a mom, a wife, a grown up, and this is what I'm supposed to be.
